In the year 2155, the United States of America fell apart after years of tumult and civil warfare, and in 2157, the country was reunited under a new name: The Republic of Xythia. Over the course of around 500 years, what was then known as simply English-2157 became Xythese, a language built for the new age of technology and culture.
Xythese contains five vowels and sixteen consonants.
It combines the grammatical rules of English and the pronounciation of Japanese. Every vowel and consonant is pronounced the same, which prevents confusion in the long run (such as the infamous there / they're / their issue in English).
Xythese also utilizes roots and suffixes like English does, although the way they are used is different. Conjugation is practically nonexistent, as these roots and suffixes are concatenated to the beginning or end of a word, separated by an en-dash (-).
Posession is inferred through the prefix ki-.
english suffix | xythese suffix | description |
---|---|---|
-s | -ras / -as | forms plural |

-able | -made | able to be done |

Additionally, past, present, and future tenses are no longer made apparent by a conjugated word appropriate for the tense. Instead, the tense is signified by a tense word. All proceeding words (until a full stop or overridden by another tense word) will then be under the specified tense.

Number creation in Xythese is easier than it is in English, although it takes longer to speak larger numbers.

The written language is relatively simplistic in nature, with glyphs constrained to 3x5 pixels. The small size allows for large amounts of text to be displayed at a time while taking up a small amount of space.

Xythese words are created based on how one should feel when saying the word. Take, for example, the word for dance, "novena". Xythian dances are traditionally elegant by nature, so the word's speaker should feel elegant as well.
